1. Place grated apples in a bowl, add lemon rind, cookie crumbs, sugar, salt, flour, nutmeg, eggs, almond extract, bitter and mix thoroughly. 2. Stir in milk, blend well. 3. Place in well-greased 8 inch baking dish, dot top with butter. 4. bake in 325* oven for 2 hours, or until knife inserted in ceneter comes out clean. Should be consistency of thick pudding. 5. Chill and decorate with almonds & cherries. Serve with whipped topping if desired.
