peel the rutabagas and cut into half inch chunks. place in 3 quart saucepan and cover with cold water. cook over medium heat 20-25 minutes until tender. drain. return to pan. stir over medium heat until all excess moisture evaporates about 2 minutes. In large frying pan, combine remaining ingredients except scallions heat 4 minutes. add rutabagas, cook 2 minutes. sprinkle with scallions and serve.
