Ham Hock And Cabbage Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 0.5 lb Bacon
  • 1 lb Smoked Ham
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 2 Medium Carrot
  • 1 Head Cabbage
  • 3 Cloves Garlic
  • 2 Medium Bay Leaf
  • 0.25 Tsp Cayenne
  • 4 Cup Chicken Broth
  • 5 Large Potato
  • 1 Salt
  • 1 Pepper


Directions

Saute bacon in oil, until crisp. Add ham, onions and carrots. Cook for 5 minutes. Add cabbage, garlic, bay leaves, salt, pepper and cayenne. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add broth and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes. Add potatoes and simmer for 30 more minutes. Remove bay leaves and serve.
